Entire Hungarian Town Available to Rent for $750 Per Day

Megyer: Hungarian Town Available to Rent
Megyer is a small Hungarian village, population 18. Dating back to the 11th century, it's about 120 miles southwest of Budapest, and for $750 per day, you can rent the entire thing and name yourself king.

Er, not king. "Deputy mayor." (Though once you're deputy mayor, you decide what your title is.)

Included in that rental price: Seven guesthouses (room for 39 occupants), four streets, one bus stop, one barn, a chicken yard, six horses, two cows, three sheep and ten acres of farmland.

One of the perks of your assumed position as deputy mayor: Renaming those four streets to anything you like – as long as your money's good.

Mayor Kristof Pajer said that the biggest attraction Megyer offers is silence. "We offer all sorts of programs to our guests, but most are simply captivated by the surroundings and the quiet," he told the Associated Press. "Once they sit out in the meadow with a bottle of rosé wine, nothing else matters."

He's right you know. At least about that last part.
